Dan Carmody

Dan, along with his wife Beth come from southwest Sydney and are grateful for having grown up in Christian homes and Biblically faithful churches. This heritage has led them to train at Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC) in preparation to serve wherever the Lord would send them. While studying at SMBC, Dan spent his 2016 SMBC mission week with Southside Bible Church, assisting with a number of outreach activities across the church. Then, after a winding journey of theological studies and pursuing overseas missionary possibilities, the Lord led the Carmodys back to Canberra to serve on the team at Southside and Molonglo Bible Churches from 2020.

Dan loves digging deep into God’s word, the Bible, and helping others to savour its splendour, subtleties, and soul-piercing strength to transform our lives. He also particularly loves to see followers of Jesus encouraged and equipped to share their unique gifts and passions in self-giving love for and through God’s church. As the Ministries Pastor, Dan loves the fact that he’s freed up during the week to devote himself to both of those things and more!

“Off the clock”, Dan loves pottering at home with Beth and the kids (Olive & Armon), or getting out with them to explore new and familiar places. He loves to bask in the full spectrum of God’s creativity through each of the senses: the aroma, texture and flavour of homemade sourdough; capturing the intricacy of worn & torn wings through photographing bees; and being moved by the crescendos and beats of orchestral soundtracks. These all the shout at us to see and respond to the glory and goodness of our God.

Dom Fiocco

Dom is married to Leslie with three young-adult daughters who are all part of Southside. From a Catholic upbringing, Dom became a Christian at university (UNE, Armidale NSW) after understanding that the gospel is a message of grace, centred on having a relationship with Jesus rather than mere religion.

Before studying theology at Moore College (Sydney), Dom worked as an accountant. He served in Anglican Churches (Sydney), at Crossroads (Canberra), and since 2003 has been involved in church planting across Canberra.

Dom’s main role is preaching God’s Word, vision-casting, and prayer. He is currently undertaking a Masters degree part-time through Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC).
