Dan Carmody

Dan, along with his wife Beth come from southwest Sydney and are grateful for having grown up in Christian homes and Biblically faithful churches. This heritage has led them to train at Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC) in preparation to serve wherever the Lord would send them. Then, after a winding journey of theological studies at Sydney Missionary and Bible College, pursuing overseas mission work and grappling with the disappointment of that door closing, the Lord led the Carmodys back to Canberra to serve on the team at Molonglo Bible Church.

Dan loves digging deep into God’s word, the Bible, and helping others to wonder at its splendour, subtleties, and soul-piercing strength to transform our lives. He also loves to see followers of Jesus encouraged and equipped to share their unique gifts and passions in self-giving love for and through God’s church. As the Ministries Pastor, Dan loves the fact that he’s freed up during the week to devote himself to both of those things and more!

“Off the clock”, Dan loves pottering at home with Beth and the kids (Olive & Armon), or getting out with them to explore God’s amazing creation. He loves to bask in the full spectrum of the Lord’s creativity through each of the senses: the aroma, texture and flavour of homemade sourdough; capturing the intricacy of worn & torn wings through photographing bees; and being moved by the crescendos and beats of orchestral soundtracks. These all the shout at us to see and respond to the glory and goodness of our God!
